AUGUST 6th :  JAYAPURA ARRIVAL BY FLIGHT TO WAMENA/BALIEM VALLEY (-/L/-)

You may arrive in Papua by today latest at 08:00 am but very recommended to be arrive one day earlier in Papua at Sentani Airport August 5th). Meet our team and with all participants at Sentani Airport for the flight depart at 10:00 am to Wamena. (Please note: flights are very often delayed due to weather conditions and we strongly recommend carrying baggage as needed for your trip in the Baliem valley.

There is no free baggage for Lion Air flight, or 7 Kilo only in the Cabin/hand bag, (IDR.30.000/kg). As you can leave your unnecessary baggage in Jayapura with us before leaving.

Upon arrival at Wamena airport, Check in to your hotel  location in the town. Lunch is served at hotel. Drive by car to Aikima  village to  explore the Local traditional people of baliem valley. Along the way you will find the Danis working in their sweet potatoes fields and will see their daily activities. We will hike in 1-2 hours through the beautiful countryside and traditional houses of Dani people but you can not avoid a muddy & sliperry path with single log bridge). Enjoy the beautiful nature setting and crossing a bridge over Aike river before you arrive at the main road where the car is waiting for us.   Dinner will be on your account. Stay at Medium Accommodation 

AUGUST 8th : BALIEM VALLEY FESTIVAL  (B/L/-)

Baliem Valley Festival- If the schedule of the festival still on, again we will travel by chartered car to the location of the Baliem Valley festival (entrance fee to ther festival have included). The place where they hold the ceremony changes from year to year.  The festival has many traditional activities. There is traditional Dani tribe dancing and singing. Also there is a mock battle to show you how they used to fight in the old days. And there are newer activities, like bow and arrow competitions. And even foreigners can get involved in this activity. Please note: All tour and festival dates will be adjusted according to local condition.  You will have a chance to see and enjoy these cultural festival for one day.   Lunchboxes is provided from hotel. Late afternoon drive back to Wamena for accommodation. Dinner will be on your account.

Notes: Based on the schedule of the Baliem Valley Festival is held on August 7th – 9th. This schedule can be change suddenly without prior notice considering that the festival is very dependent on the involvement of the community and as well as local condition, If we can't see the festival today on Aug. 8th – 9th  due to schedule changes, If so we will take another alternative to do a tour to a different places in the Baliem valley.

AUGUST 9th : BALIEM VALLEY – DANI TRIBE (B/L/-)

In the morning we drive up to Jiwika in the central Baliem Valley. Our one hour trek begins at the base of the mountain and ascends 300 meters through a beautiful rainforest, reaching the traditional salt spring of a Dani clan. Clothed in their traditional costumes, the native inhabitants will demonstrate the old techniques of the salt production. Following the demonstration, we will have our lunch on the mountains base then walk down to a Kurulu hamlet. Visit Sumpaima village to the nearby village of Anemoigi to see  another Dani people family with their traditional  houses.  You will see and experience the local culture and have an opportunity to interact with local villagers while you can buy their handicraft as your souvenir.

AUGUST 10th :  FLIGHT TO JAYAPURA – DEPARTURE  (B/-/-)

This morning you will catch a morning flight to Jayapura by Wing Air at 07:00am. or by later flight. Direct connect flight to Sorong, Makasar, Jakarta or Denpasar.

Please note : Above program and tour itinerary is flexible, can change immediately if needed or adapted to local conditions and situations,  i.e: flights, weather, natural disaster etc.
