Important information
Observing birds of paradise requires patience. Watch their movements and don't get too close so as not to disturb their activities.
While entering the forest, it is not allowed to use camera lights, sharp weapons or anything that can damage the eco-system.
Accommodation (guest house) is on the edge of the forest without adequate facilities. Using fans, toilets, and rainwater for washing.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner, we will provide simple food, unlike restaurants in the city, we will be assisted by the local community.
This bird is classified as an animal protected by the Government and the community.
Itinerary
Day 01: Jayapura - Foot of Mt. Cyclop (-/L/D)
Recommended to leave before 11.00 am so we can then transfer you from your accommodation straight to Nimbo.
Pick Up at your accommodation with a car drive to foot Mt Cyclop in 2,5 hours - The scenery during the trip and not boring you. Lunch is served enroute or provided by local people in the villages. Late afternoon around 16:00 PM walking into the forest to explore the jungle flora and fauna in the foot of Mt Cyclop. Here we will visit the bird of paradise habitat, walking about 40 minutes from where we stay. Usually some types of endemic birds stay long and breed here. Depends on the weather when we visit. Dinner is served by Local people and accommodation at simple guest house on the edge of the forest.
Day 02: Foot of Mt. Cyclop - Airport of Jayapura - Departure (B/-/-)
Depending on the flight you have, before breakfast around 5 o'clock in the morning hiking in different directions to see birds of paradise or other bird birds while exploring the rainforest. Return to the Accommodation and enjoy the breakfast provided. By car, we will return to the city for approximately 3 hours and straight to Jayapura airport for the next departure.
